General Counsel Committee

The General Counsel Committee of the National Center for State Courts provides an opportunity for collaboration between general counsels of America’s leading corporations and the NCSC on the work and programs that improve the administration of justice.

The Committee creates and participates in opportunities for dialogue on judicial reform issues among state court leaders, the business community, and the public. Recently, focus has been given to issues such as electronic discovery, mass torts, jury system reform, and improvements in judicial elections. The National Center for State Courts is grateful to all of the members of our General Counsel Committee for their generosity and valuable participation.

General Counsel Committee Organization

Committee members participate actively in the development and implementation of the National Center’s programs and initiatives. Members provide advice and guidance to ensure that the Center’s work remains relevant and timely.

The General Counsel Committee holds an annual meeting each fall in Washington, D.C. Members are also invited to attend the annual Justice Roundtable event which brings together state chief justices, members of the NCSC Board of Directors, and the General Counsel and Lawyers Committees to discuss issues of common concern to business and court communities.

Members of the General Counsel Committee make a leadership annual contribution to the National Center.
