Gifts of stock
In addition to supporting the National Center for State Courts, a gift of appreciated securities can provide you with added tax advantages:

  • Deduct the full fair market value after the stock has been held 12 months. The deduction can be used to offset 30% of your adjusted gross income. Any deduction exceeding the 30% limit can be carried forward for up to five additional years.
  • Avoid paying capital gains tax.

Thank you for your interest in supporting NCSC with a gift of stock. Please contact Katherine Dabney or call 1-800-616-6100 for transfer instructions.

Planned gifts
The National Center for State Courts is dedicated to improving the courts through leadership and service. Including NCSC in your estate plans is a wonderful way to provide long-term support and help ensure the organization’s future. Remembering NCSC in your will is easy to carry out and can provide significant federal tax savings.

We encourage you to plan your estate with the assistance of your financial advisor. Please contact the NCSC development office if you have questions or need additional assistance. Call 1-800-616-6100 or e-mail Katherine Dabney.

IRA distributions
Thanks to charitable IRA legislation, if you are 70 ½ years or older, distributions from your IRA may be made to a charitable organization tax free through December 31, 2009. You may distribute up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA as part of your annual minimum required distribution.

We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor about your eligibility and the benefits of an IRA distribution gift to the National Center for State Courts. Please contact the NCSC development office if you have questions or need additional assistance. Call 1-800-616-6100 or e-mail Katherine Dabney.
