Task Force on Preservation of the Justice System
NCSC Chair addresses ABA regarding court funding crisis Chief Judge Eric Washington of the D.C. Court of Appeals spoke to the ABA House of Delegates regarding the underfunding of state courts during the ABA’s 2012 Midyear meeting in New Orleans Feb. 1– 7. The National Center for State Courts has been working closely with the ABA in its continued efforts to examine the impact of the underfunding of the judiciary on access to justice. NCSC President Mary McQueen serves on the ABA Task Force for the Preservation of the Justice System, which was established last year and has met several times in different cities. In his role as president of the Conference of Chief Justices, Chief Judge Washington was invited to address the ABA House of Delegates at its Midyear meeting.
