This year’s theme, “Realizing the Dream: Equality for All,” is based on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream" speech. The artwork should reflect the work that remains to be done in rectifying injustice, eliminating all forms of discrimination, and putting an end to human trafficking and other violations of our basic human rights.

SPONSORS: The Supreme Court of Virginia and the National Center for State Courts.

CRITERIA: Fifth grade students are asked to complete a drawing depicting this year’s Law Day theme on an 8 1/2 by 11 paper or poster board. Any media (crayon, marker, colored pencil, paint) is allowed. Winning selections will be based on originality, composition, and use of theme.

PRIZES: The first place winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card, as well as have his/her artwork displayed at the National Center for State Courts. Five, second place winners will receive a $50 Amazon gift card, and ten, third place winners will receive $25 Amazon gift cards.
