Williamsburg, Va. (March 30, 2010) — Stewart D. Aaron of the international law firm Arnold & Porter LLP has joined the Lawyers Committee of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC).
NCSC’s Lawyers Committee involves prominent practicing attorneys in the nonprofit’s work and programs, which are dedicated to improving the administration of justice. Committee members actively participate in outreach to and support for the bench, bar, and legal community, and encourage support for the National Center’s initiatives.
Aaron, who practices in Arnold & Porter’s New York office where he also serves as administrative partner, has been recognized as one of New York’s Super Lawyers by Law & Politics magazine for the past four years and, in 2009, was listed in “Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business” in the area of securities litigation. He practices commercial litigation with an emphasis on securities law matters, and represents clients in state and federal courts and before regulatory bodies and self-regulatory organizations.
Aaron is active in the New York County Lawyers’ Association, currently serving as its vice president, as president of its foundation, and on its Task Force on Judicial Independence, and will become the association’s president-elect in May. He also is chair of the New York City Bar’s Litigation Committee and a member of the New York State Bar Association’s House of Delegates.
In addition to his work before the bench, Aaron also is a frequent author and lecturer on various legal topics, including securities, commercial, and prisoners’ civil rights litigation. He is a member of the Federal Bar Council and of the New York American Inn of Court.
Aaron received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his juris doctor summa cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law.
