The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has released the Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program FY 2012 Competitive Grant Solicitation to establish or enhance Drug Court services, coordination, offender management, and recovery support services.

For the purposes of this solicitation the 'family' of Drug Court models includes:

  • Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Courts,
  • Veterans Treatment Courts,
  • Reentry Courts, Co-Occurring Courts,
  • and Tribal Healing to Wellness Courts.


Category 1: Implementation Grants

Implementation grants are available to jurisdictions that have completed a substantial amount of planning and are ready to implement an evidenced based Adult Drug Court.

Grant Maximum: $350,000. Project Period: 36 Months.

Category 2: Enhancement Grants

Enhancement grants are available to jurisdictions with a fully operational Adult Drug Court.

Grant Maximum: $200,000. Project Period: 24 Months.

Category 3: Statewide Grants

Statewide grants are provided to:

(A) improve or expand Drug Court services statewide by encouraging adherence to evidence-based design features, and

(B) financially support Drug Courts in local or regional jurisdictions which do not currently operate with BJA Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program funding.

Grant Maximum: $1.5 million (a maximum of $200,000 is available per applicant under category A, and a maximum of $1,300,000 per applicant under category B). Project Period: 36 months. 

Deadline

Applicants must register with Grants.gov prior to submitting an application. All applications are due by 11:59 p.m. EST on March 8, 2012.
