To facilitate implementation of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), points of contact have been identified in the state Administrative Offices of the Courts. The role of these points of contact is to assist judges from other states in identifying the trial judges who could facilitate the ICPC process.
The ICPC provides the framework to ensure that children placed across state lines for foster care or adoption are placed with persons who are safe, suitable, and able to provide proper care. It also defines legal and financial responsibility and responsibility for supervision and the provision of services for the child. For more information about the ICPC, go here.
