2014 NCSC Survey of the State of the State Courts

NCSC contracted with GBA Strategies to conduct a comprehensive public opinion survey of 1,000 registered voters.  The survey was conducted by telephone between November 12-16, 2014.  Survey findings are considered accurate within  +/- 3.1 percent, 19 times out of 20.

Key findings of the survey include:

  • Courts remain the most trusted branch of government
  • Court users express confidence in fairness of proceedings, but have doubts about customer service and job performance
  • There is a strong demand for greater availability of online services
  • The public worries that politics undermines the impartiality of the court system
