The National Child Welfare Resource Center on Legal and Judicial Issues lists state-by-state court-community collaboration initiatives. New Mexico, for example, has developed several projects, such as a Children’s Law Center, the Tribal-State Judicial Consortium, the Abuse/Neglect Summit, and the Court Improvement Project and Task Force, which established a strategic plan in 2003 and issued several subsequent publications.

In 2001, the New Mexico Administrative Office of the Courts published the handbook, New Mexico Court Volunteer Program: Recruiting, Retaining, and Recognizing Court Volunteers . Contains program examples and tips on how to develop a successful relationship with volunteer participants.
