Who will be affected?

Everyone with an account on NCSC Connected Community, which includes all members of the Ask NCSC! open forum, public communities, and private communities.

When will the site close?

Connected.ncsc.org will be unavailable as of August 1, 2019.

Why are the communities being shut down?

Since its launch in July 2014, NCSC Connected Community has been an important place for court professionals to share information, pose questions about their business problems to their peers, and learn about trends in court administration. However, in recent months, we’ve seen less activity on the site.

I liked being part of a virtual community of court practitioners … are there any alternative community spaces?

NCSC’s group on LinkedIn, www.ncsc.org/linkedin, has nearly 7,000 members and the platform can also host private groups, if that’s something you used Connected Community for.

Starting a group on LinkedIn is easy: Log in, and from your My Network page, go to Groups, and then Create a New Group. Groups may be either Standard (visible in search and findable by non-members) or Unlisted (unfindable in search, with membership by invitation only.)

Can I archive any of the content from the communities I belong to before it is taken offline?

Discussion content may be copied or captured via screenshot; library files may be downloaded. There is a fee-based bulk-download option for larger libraries (100-plus files).

Additionally, if you are the manager of a community, our administrator will be in touch soon to discuss your needs and next steps before closure.

Can I still create a NCSC Connected Community account?

Self-registration via the Log In page will be disabled and no new accounts will be created after June 6.
