National Summit on Language Access in the Courts

The Summit, held October 1-3, 2012, called attention to the problem of access to justice for people with limited English proficiency, and permitted state courts and other stakeholders to share successful strategies and evidence-based practices and develop state action plans for system improvements.

The Summit consisted of a dynamic mixture of plenary sessions, workshops, and state team planning sessions that enabled participants to share ideas and programs.

The Symposium was sponsored by the State Justice Institute and hosted by the National Center for State Courts.
