County Executives of America (CEA) works to help county governments serve the American people by coordinating national initiatives and representing local government interests. JCOIN is proud to partner with CEA to launch a new course on stigma for County Executives, including County Judges, County Mayors, Parish Presidents, Borough Presidents, City-County consolidations, and all their staff who can lead their constituents in reducing the stigma surrounding substance use disorder in their communities.

  • Course goals: Improve knowledge about the experiences of stigma among individuals with a substance use disorder and that are justice-involved.
  • Lessons learned: Different types of stigma, the social construct of stigma, and strategies to address stigma.
  • Audience: County Executives, County Judges, Parish and Borough Presidents, City-County Mayors, Commission Presidents and Chairs, and all county leaders.
