The National Consortium on Racial and Ethnic Fairness in the Courts and the New Jersey Judiciary are jointly presenting a live virtual Black History Month program called, "When the Justice System Fails: A Facilitated Community Conversation on Equal Protection and Due Process" on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST.

The program will feature Kevin Richardson, one of “The Exonerated Five,” who will shed light on wrongful convictions through the telling of his personal story. A panel of legal experts will discuss wrongful convictions in the context of equal protection and due process and consider what mechanisms are in place to protect against wrongful convictions and what recourse exists when questions arise about the integrity of convictions.
