Collaborative Approaches (Repeat)

Wednesday, October 3, 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

One strategy for expanding interpreter resources for the courts is to work collaboratively with other entities or across jurisdictions to pool financial and staff resources and to share administrative responsibilities.  This workshop will highlight several collaborative models – Alaska’s Language Interpreter Center, Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit Court’s Remote Centralized Interpreting Project, and the New Mexico Center for Language Access (NMCLA).

PRESENTERS:

Moderator: Hon. Paul A. Suttell, Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Rhode Island

  • Ms. Brenda Aiken, Language Services Coordinator for the Alaska Court System
