Cynthia Lee

Cynthia G. Lee is a Principal Court Research Associate at the National Center for State Courts (NCSC). Her research employs quantitative and qualitative data to inform public policy and court management decisions. Ms. Lee is co-principal investigator for the Analysis of Publicly Available Court Data project, funded by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, and an evaluation and randomized controlled trial of text-based court date reminders in Kentucky, funded by the National Institute of Justice. She currently directs workload assessments for the North Carolina Office of Indigent Defense Services, the Massachusetts Trial Court, and the Michigan state trial courts. Her other current and recent work includes the National Open Data Standards project, an evaluation of holistic defense programs, an analysis of fine and fee payments in Wisconsin, and evaluations of problem-solving courts and other justice system programs. Ms. Lee holds a J.D. from the William & Mary Law School, where she was a member of the William & Mary Law Review and the Order of the Coif, and an M.P.P. from the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy at the College of William & Mary.
