A first aid or nursing station may be provided to respond to accidents or medical emergencies. The room need not be staffed full-time depending upon the size of the facility, but would serve as an emergency treatment area before the arrival of emergency rescue personnel. It should be located on the main floor of the building and within easy access to an emergency vehicle sally port.
