Coordination/Supervision of Interpreters: Centralized State Program 

Cost of Interpreter Services (including fees to freelance and salaries of staff interpreters): $41 Million

Budget for Language Access Program (not including direct interpreter services): $900,000

Funding for Language Access Program: Court’s General Operating Budget 

Compensation Range for Salaried Interpreters (spoken language): $55,000 - $76,000 

Compensation Range for Salaried Interpreters (sign language):  $55,000 - $76,000

Compensation Range for Freelance Interpreters (certified spoken language) : $170/half day; $300/full day

Compensation Range for Freelance Interpreters (certified sign language): $170/half day; $300/full day

Difference in Pay between Spanish and LOTS Interpreters: Same 

Minimum Certification Requirements: Written Language Assessment, Oral Assessment (22 languages), Criminal Background Check, Ethics and Professionalism Seminar
