ADA

Provides materials about the requirements of the ADA and assistance with implementing the act in courts.

Courthouse Design and Finance

Provides standards and guidelines for designing a secure, productive, and accessible courthouse, as well as resources to help courts understand the challenges behind designing a courthouse to fit the ever-changing needs of the judiciary.

Gender and Racial Fairness

Looks at how gender bias can affect how parties are treated by the courts and color the public's perception of the justice system and includes a collection of court studies and programs to combat gender bias.

Indigent Defense

Examines standards and guidelines that address the issues facing providers of indigent-defense services, such as attorney eligibility, caseloads, conflict of interest, indigency screening, attorney performance, and administration of indigent-defense systems.

Language Access

Provides practical information to assist courts to meet the needs of linguistic minorities, including information on interpreter policy, remote court interpreting, best practices, and the Consortium for State Court Interpreter Certification.

Plain Language

Provides information about ongoing efforts to improve legal writing as well as efforts to encourage the judiciary, the legislature, and executive agencies to draft court opinions, statutes, and other government documents in everyday language.

Privacy/Public Access to Court Records

Provides information about privacy issues and public access (particularly electronic) to court records.   Includes court rules, statutes, and other legal authorities; and recommendations relating to acessing court records.

Self-Representation

Shows how courts are increasingly trying to meet the needs of self-represented litigants through self-help centers, court-sponsored legal advice, online forms and information, and various collaborative approaches.

Victims

Assists courts by providing information on victim rights/legislation, victim services, and victim impact statements.
