Webinar: Measuring access and fairness in remote courts with the new CourTools Measure 1 — Lessons learned from Ohio

-

In this webinar, NCSC will officially launch the new CourTools Measure 1 Access and Fairness survey, which allows courts to measure user experiences in both remote and in-person court proceedings. We will preview the new measure and share new data on Access and Fairness ratings, which we gathered with the help of the Ohio Courts. We will also hear from a panel of pilot site participants in the Ohio Courts on their experiences disseminating a remote court user survey. The panel will answer questions like:

  • What strategies are effective for recruiting survey participants remotely?
  • Are there ways to automate survey processes to reduce the burden on court staff?
  • Do financial incentives increase participation?
  • How are you using the data?

This launch marks the beginning of a full refresh for all CourTools measures. CourTools will be updated to reflect remote court settings and advancements in court data access and availability, as well as to connect with other NCSC resources, such as NODS. Stay tuned for more updates!

Panelists:

  • Colleen Rosshirt, Supreme Court of Ohio
  • Berlin Carroll, Court Administrator, Allen County Juvenile Court
