Webinar: Impact of AI in the Courts

October 18th, 2023

In the final installment of “The Promises and Perils of AI in the Courts” webinar series, our panel of court leaders, innovators and specialists will discuss how AI can potentially be used to automate court administration and judicial processes. Panelists will share insights from their roles on the bench and in court technology leadership, and they’ll also provide guidance on what courts can do now to future-ready themselves for the impact AI technologies are likely to have.

Judge Scott Schlegel chairs the Louisiana Supreme Court Technology Commission and was recently appointed to the Advisory Council of the American Bar Association Task Force on the Law and Artificial Intelligence. He is a nationally recognized speaker on legal tech and the modernization of the justice system.

Aaron Judy is the chief of innovation and AI at the Maricopa County (Ariz.) Clerk of the Superior Court. He and his team have been recognized as innovators and future-ready by several national technology publications.

Shay Cleary is a managing director in NCSC’s Court Consulting Services group who provides leadership in technology solutions. He has more than 20 years of experience working for the Minnesota Judicial Branch and State Court Administrator’s Office, along with a firm focused broadly on government data and infrastructure management.

The first two webinars, “AI 101” and “AI and the Impact on the Practice of Law” are currently available on demand.
