Kansas City, Missouri: Court User Survey Summary

Court User Survey Summary

For the engagement sessions, the Kansas City team reviewed results from their court user survey to help identify and prioritize issues relevant to community members. A total of 952 court users took the survey.

The survey included data and feedback from court users about:

  • Reasons why users are coming to the Kansas City Municipal Court and their demographic backgrounds

Integrating Key Survey Issues

Equipped with survey data from court users, the Kansas City team integrated key issues from the survey into the group discussion activities at all three adult engagement sessions.

These group discussion questions included:

  • How much do you trust or distrust the municipal court?
  • Why do you trust or distrust the municipal court?
  • How fair or unfair does the municipal court treat people?
  • Why don’t people show up for court?
  • What resources could the court provide to help the public better handle their court business?
  • What does the court do well or you find helpful?
