Nebraska: Recruitment Incentives

Engagement with the Community

At the Nebraska public engagement sessions, full meals and $50 gift cards were provided to all public participants.

Early on in discussions about hosting these events, Nebraska’s partners encouraged organizers and partners to share a meal with participants and have a community leader offer a prayer, as both meal sharing and prayers are culturally important.

In addition, the Nebraska team knew it would not be easy for members of their target population to take three-and-a-half hours out of their day to share about their experiences with a government system. Therefore, everyone who came to the events was able to get a $50 gift card for participation, and the Nebraska team was intentional about making sure people who lived in rural areas could use the gift card.
