Minimum Certification Requirements: 

To qualify, candidates must:

*Attend a two-day orientation
*Pass the NCSC written English proficiency exam with a score of 80% or higher
*Pass the NCSC oral certification exam with a score of 70% or higher, or hold federal certification (for Sight Translation in Illinois, a minimum score of 65% is required for each section)
*Complete a criminal background check
*Submit a signed Oath of Office form
