Joshua Butz is a Court Management Consultant with the National Center for State Courts. Before joining the Access to Justice team with NCSC, he worked in a variety of court settings with the Milwaukee County Clerk of Courts office in the State of Wisconsin. Most recently he worked with Milwaukee County’s civil legal aid clinic, the Milwaukee Justice Center. Through that role he helped to start a Courthouse Navigator Program, made technical improvements to their Civil Legal Aid Helpline, and worked face-to-face with many self-represented litigants. Joshua attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and a master’s degree in public administration. Joshua is committed to increasing access to justice and will be collaborating on many projects to improve court access in jurisdictions across the country.
