Lonni Kyhos Summers
Lonni Kyhos Summers is a Senior Court Management Consultant with the National Center for State Courts. She works on a variety of projects related to court access including plain language, clear communication, language access, signage and wayfinding, and regulatory reform. She created NCSC’s Plain Language Glossary and Forms Camp.
Before joining NCSC, Lonni worked in the Maryland Judiciary’s access to justice group, where she developed resources for self-represented litigants, served on the Forms Subcommittee, and directed Maryland’s statewide network of court help centers. Lonni began her legal career in legal services. She managed the consumer and foreclosure unit at Maryland Volunteer Lawyer’s Service, represented tenants in rent court at D.C. Law Students in Court (Rising for Justice), and was a staff attorney at Maryland Legal Aid. A graduate of Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Lonni lives in Annapolis with her family.
