Illinois HB 2327 ORIGINAL: Authorizes county boards to require the clerk of the circuit court to charge and collect a court automation fee of up to $25 (instead of $15) and a court document fee of up to $25 (instead of $15). Illinois SB 1768 ORIGINAL: Allows Supreme Court to set additional filing and other fees to pay for e-filing and electronic case management systems and to pay for Supreme Court established committees and commissions. AS AMENDED: Removes all of original bill. Creates the Supreme Court Special Purposes Fund. Provides that, with exceptions, all fees paid to or received by an appellate court clerk shall be paid into the Supreme Court Special Purposes Fund (instead of the State treasury) for costs associated with electronic filing and case management systems in the reviewing courts and the operation of committees and commissions established by the Supreme Court. Specifies that the fees collected for examination and admission to practice law are appropriated to the judicial branch and shall be used to offset the costs of administering the examination and admission process to practice law.
