AI solutions in rural courts

The National Center for State Courts (NCSC), working with Microsoft, is looking for four rural courts — or courts serving underrepresented communities — to participate in a year-long, hands-on project to implement an AI-enabled solution designed to improve court business processes. This project will focus on improving court operations and not be considering AI tools for judicial work.

Project staff will work closely with participating court teams to identify day-to-day operational challenges and observe existing workflows. These insights will inform the development, testing, and implementation of AI-enabled solutions tailored to each court's specific needs. Throughout the project, we will provide training and technical assistance to support successful adoption.

The application, which requires a letter of support from court leadership, is due Friday, April 17.
