The accuracy of dispositions affects law enforcement, justice professionals, corrections officers, treatment providers, and the public. Criminal histories are also accessed for background checks on individuals for public housing, employment in positions of trust (teachers, day care providers, nursing home workers, etc.), or purchasing firearms. Effectively sharing this critical information among jurisdictions is essential to public safety.
Disposition Business Process Flow DiagramsEach of the Disposition Capabilities have been analyzed to create Business Process Models. Click any of the blocks in the model below to access detailed information about its corresponding Business Process Model.
The following sample process flow diagrams use Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) to illustrate the primary business process flows for disposition business functions:- Cite and Release (png)

These diagrams and process flows were used to identify interactions between entities and opportunities for electronic sharing of disposition information. This work contributed to development of a detailed Global Service Specification Package (SSP) that can be used by programmers to implement web services to support electronic disposition reporting. The SSP for disposition reporting has been approved by Global as a reference specification that courts and other justice system agencies can use as a starting point for their disposition information sharing projects. The Disposition Reporting Services Specification is available for download from the Global Information Sharing Toolkit (GIST).
