NCSC's ongoing commitment to helping courts navigate AI
NCSC has spent the past few years helping courts understand, respond to, and get ahead of the impact of AI. Early on, our interim guidance helped courts get acclimated to AI technologies while also considering future implications. Over time, we've heard your questions, identified real-world challenges and opportunities, and have met you where you're at in your AI journey.
But our work isn't done yet. Technology's importance in advancing innovative solutions is at the heart of NCSC's strategic agenda priorities and our work to promote just, free, and safe communities.
One of our more visible projects has been the TRI/NCSC AI Policy Consortium for Law & Courts AI Sandbox, a place where courts could test-drive new technology in a safe space. With courts becoming more comfortable and confident with AI tools, the consortium has sunset the sandbox to focus more attention on delivering educational and practical tools that increase trustworthy AI use.
We will spend the next year developing common infrastructure that will help assess, research, and strengthen understanding of the future of AI in the courts.
